Congratulations to Kat Sandler, who's script Late Night took first place in the Toronto Fringe's 24 Hour Playwriting Contest, sponsored by the University of Guelph MFA. Kat is a past member of the playwrights' unit at Tarragon Theatre, where her play Mustard will be presented in the Extra Space in February 2016. She is also a performer and director who has staged six of her own productions as Artistic Director of Theatre Brouhaha.
Hats off, also, to the runners-up in this gruelling time-test: Natalie Axon for Emergency Procedures, and Ronit Rubinstein for Swagger Jacking at the End of The World.
The winning play is presented to the public in a free staged reading on the final night of the Fringe Festival, directed by the Artistic Director of the Dora Award-winning company MacKenzieRo, Autumn Smith. The reading will be held on Sunday July 12th at 9:30pm in the Tarragon Solo Room.
