We asked the seven MFA alumni publishing books this spring what they’re reading. Here’s what’s on Alexis von Konigslow’s list:
“The grownup book that I’m reading right now (late at night) is The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell. I also read many children’s books with my son during the day. Some of our current favourites are How Do You Read to a Rabbit by (my mother) Andrea Wayne von Konigslow, Alligator Pie by Dennis Lee, I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More by Karen Beaumont, Wow Wow and Haw Haw by George Murray, Nova Scotia Lullabye by P.L. McCarron, and The Bear and His Boy by Sean Bryan. All the children’s books that we read together (again and again and again) are colourful, whimsical and wonderful. I’m becoming just as obsessed with them as I am with novels.”
The Capacity for Infinite Happiness, Alexis’s debut novel, is published with Wolsak & Wynn’s Buckrider Books imprint and will launch on Thursday, May 7th at the Monarch Tavern in Toronto.
